Existence in this planet is categorized into three parts, the known, the unknown and the unknowable. The known is what we have proven with science so far. The unknown is what science has yet to discover. The unknowable is the mystery of our universe. The unknowable is what keeps us inspired, we are here on earth to experience life fully and make known the unknown.
Nature has given the role of all your body’s functions to your instincts. Your instincts have innate knowledge passed down through thousands of years of evolution. You don’t need to consciously breathe, it is all done automatically.
Your intuition will tell you intimate and important things nobody else will and it will also tell you things your own mind will argue with.
As a culture, we have learned to believe that being rational is what should prevail when making decisions but what about our “inner voice,” our gut feeling which tells us how we feel beneath those layers of logic?
It’s our inner voice “that just knows,” and it does understand what uniquely, sometimes seemingly illogically, will make you happy. It bridges the gap between instinct and reason, between the conscious and unconscious mind.
Science tells us that only 20 percent of the brain’s gray matter is used for conscious thoughts, while 80 percent is dedicated to non-conscious thoughts.
So how do we turn up the volume on our intuition and how do we know when it’s good information, worth trusting ?
Here are 5 ways you can uplift your intuition and make it stronger:
1. Spend time with nature everyday
Call it sourcing, meditation, quiet reflection or just being but gift yourself with daily quality time just to be with yourself and your thoughts and feelings, while connecting to earth and breathing fresh air. Listen to your thoughts and watch them without judgement, allow them to pass through you and allow yourself to recognize the sensations as they arise.
Meditating will clear your mind of distractions, allowing your internal voice to be heard with more clarity.
2. Recognize your intuition
In order to be able to use your intuition, you must able to recognize it when it speaks to you. You may receive intuitive messages through your emotions, such as feelings of uneasiness or confusion when your inner wisdom is steering you away from something – or feelings of euphoria and profound peace when you’re being guided down a path that will lead you to greater personal joy and abundance.
The universe and your intuition will thank you for being active about the guidance it's providing you. When you act on the information you receive from your inner source of wisdom, you open the channel between your subconscious and conscious mind even wider. Receiving even more intuitive messages that are stronger and easier for you to hear and act on.
4. Trust yourself
Whether you want to make better decisions, solve problems faster, or create winning plans for your life, you will achieve your goals faster and more effectively when you tune into your intuition and listen to what your inner wisdom has to say.
Trusting your intuition is all about trusting yourself – and the more trust you place in yourself, the more success you will have. Be open to receiving any kind of answer. Don't put any thought into when it will be answered. Don't demand it be answered now. Trust and be open to receiving the answer.
5. Try using a journal
Keeping a dedicated notebook for intuition journaling shows your intuition how much you value it, give it its own special space.
Write in your journal a fantasy about your intuition, an adventure or fairy tale that takes the shape of your ‘knowing’ without dissecting it intellectually.
Ask yourself questions and write them on paper. Observe your wording to make sure it is appropriate. If not, ask yourself a more important relevant questions. Trust you will be given the answer, and allow yourself to be open to receiving it.
The more attuned you become to the possibility of intuition, the more you will notice it working in your life.
Trust your inner wisdom and allow it to guide you and support you along your life.
